Hi, Gabe—if you like your classroom blog, it might be simplest to use that. That way you don't have to go to a separate place and all of the conversation is centralized.

If you don't like that blog for whatever reason, I'd recommend you look at WordPress.com—it's free and will give you all sorts of options for moderating comments and that kind of thing, plus a variety of attractive designs. (Other blog software is discussed in a previous post.)

Hello!

I am interested in creating a blog about my summer experience. A brief history is in order first; I am a teacher and last year I was accepted to volunteer for the National Park Service as an Interpretive Park Ranger at Curecanti National Rec Area and the Black Canyon of the Gunnison in Colorado during my summer off. I had a blast and had a lot of great adventures, which in hind site I should have made a documentary about in the form of a blog. Well... this year I am going back out there again. I want to blog my experience this time. I currently have two options for my blog, 1) is with Yahoo! 360, or 2) is with my classroom blog through maisdcommunities.org (visit me at Whitehall Schools, then find The Trailhead by Mr. Knowles). Is one better than the other? Should I do two separate blogs, one for friends and one for my students? With Yahoo! 360 can I control what people write on it? Because I don't want profanity etc. Is something else out there that is free and better? Please let me knoe soon so I can get started. I am in Colorado as I type and want to start blogging soon.
